法拉盛是著名的华人社区，中国商品丰富且正宗，餐馆多且口味地道；汉语通行法拉盛，生活在这里的一些华人移民来美国几十年都不会讲英语。中国国内有的，法拉盛也有；中国国内流行的，法拉盛很快就跟上了。可以说，法拉盛与中国大陆无缝接轨；生活在法拉盛的华人无感于生活在异国他乡。

Flushing is a famous Chinese community, it has abundant Chinese products and restaurants with traditional flavors; the Chinese language spread across Flushing, some immigrants who came here for decades do not speak English. Whatever is in China, Flushing also has them; whatever is popular in China, Flushing follows up soon. We can say that Flushing is connected with China seamlessly; living in Flushing is no different than living in China.

我跟大多数来美的新移民一样，第一站落脚就来到这个皇后区的法拉盛镇，虽然它不大更算不上高大尚，但对我们这些新来的人来说（特别是有语言困难的）是再适合不过了。

I am similar to most of the immigrants who came to America, Flushing of Queens is the first place I went after I landed, although it is not big nor it is elegant, for us who are the newcomers (especially those with language difficulties) this is the best suiting place.

首先我们来了解一下法拉盛的来历，最初它是荷兰人的殖民地，以西印度公司主要商港，Vlissingen命名，后由英国人接手才英译成Flushing。911后中国城的老移民迁移到此，伴随中国改革开放新移民陆续来到美国也来到此地，于是这么多年来法拉盛就成为了美东最大的华埠。

First, let's learn about the history of Flushing, it was originally a colony of the Dutch people, and was named after the main port of the West Indies Company, Vlissingen, later, it was transferred to the British, who then translated it to Flushing. After the 9/11 crisis, old immigrants of China Town moved here, as China undergoes Chinese economic reforms, new immigrants arrived in America and came to this place, that is why Flushing became the largest Chinese community in Eastern America for so many years.

其二：生活非常方便，可以吃到任何地方和国家的美食佳肴，出行有一条号称“东方快车”的7号地铁和一条长岛开往曼哈顿的火车经过，无数路的公交车始终或经过法拉盛，你如果不乘这些交通工具还可乘出租车出行。

Second: The life is very convenient because food from all different areas and countries can be found here, there is the 7 Train which is called "Orient Press" and a train from Long Island to Manhattan that goes through it, many buses begin and end or passes Flushing, if you do not want to take these public transportations, you can also take the taxi.

第三：法拉盛的缅街上银行多、大小餐饮店多、大小百货商场多、超市多、参茸行药店多。当新冠病毒疫情发生后，以往热闹喧嚣顿时没有了，法拉盛的人们在恐慌和忧虑中购买与储备各种食品和日用品，早早的戴上口罩、手套、帽子、眼镜，也特别细致的关注疫情信息的报道及发展，为了支持政府颁布的居家令，各个商家店铺也统统关门。

Third: There are many banks, restaurants, shops, markets, and pharmacies on Main Street of Flushing. When the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, there was no more hustle and bustle right at the point, people of Flushing buy and store food and daily necessities in fear and worries, they began to wear masks, gloves, hats, glasses early and pay close attention to the information about the growth of the pandemic, stores and shops were closed to support the government's shelter-in order.

缅街 Main Street

缅街是法拉盛一条南北走向，始建于17世纪的主要道路。

Main Street is the main road in Flushing that runs from South to North and was built in the 17th century.

法拉盛市政厅 Flushing Town Hall

法拉盛市政厅是一座建于1862年的维多利亚风格建筑，至今有158年，地处北方大道上，现用于法拉盛各族裔的音乐文艺演出和文化艺术展览。

Flushing Town Hall is a Victorian-style building that was built in 1862 with a history of 158 years on the Northern Boulevard for music and art performance and exhibitions.

圣佐治教堂 St. George's Church

圣佐治教堂属于哥特式复兴风格的建筑，是纽约州皇后区的新教圣公会教堂也是一座跨文化和多语种的教堂，建于1854年而至今约有166年了，由亨利·C·达德利和弗兰克·威尔斯设计的一座位于缅街38-39Ave.之间非常醒目的地标。

St. George's Episcopal Church is in New-Gothic style and is an intercultural, multilingual Protestant Church. It was built in 1854 by Henry C. Dudley and Frank Wills at Main Street's 38-39 Avenues and serves as a very significant landmark with a history of 166 years.

法拉盛图书馆 Flushing Library

法拉盛图书馆坐落在缅街和凯西纳的交汇处,大概建于1998年,是我们亚裔移民阅读学习的好去处。

Flushing Library is located at the intersection of Main Street and Kissena Boulevard's intersection and was built around 1998, it is a good place for us Asian immigrants to read and study.

法拉盛邮局 Flushing Post Office

法拉盛邮局是一座非常漂亮的建筑可无从考证它是以什么年代的风格建造的。

The Flushing Post Office is a very beautiful building but there is no record of the style that this was built in.

犹太人教堂 Jewish Synagogue

犹太人教堂是一座坐落在三福大道与凯西纳路口的新古典建筑,于1921年修建。

The Jewish Synagogue, which was built in 1921 is a neoclassical building located at the intersection of Sanford Avenue and Kissena Boulevard.

7号地铁 The 7 Train

7号地铁站地处缅街和罗斯福大道的交汇之处，是1915年修建的，通往曼哈顿，每天繁忙地乘载着大量人们去纽约各地。

The train station of line 7, which is located at the crossing point of Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue was built in 1915 for the subway to Manhattan that transports a lot of people to work in New York

梅西百货 Macy's

梅西百货在几年前是法拉盛最大的购物商场，疫情期间关门停业了

Macy's was the largest shopping mall a few years ago in Flushing, it is temporarily closed due to the pandemic.

缅街又称金融一条街，大大小小的银行比比皆是

Main Street has another name of Financial Street because of all the banks in different sizes.
