Bresson said: Photography must be realistic, authenticity is the greatest strength of photography. Photographers are participants of world activities and life, they are not bystanders. Photography is the way to express oneself.
陆鉴平、于艺的这组照片非常真实且完整地记录了从美国返回中国，在入境地西安进行隔离时，自己的亲身经历，并以图像直观地展示了出来。这是记录特定时期的一份珍贵的影像资料，值得保存。
The group photo by Lu Jianping and Yu Yi realistically and fully recorded the personal experience of quarantining at Xi'an, where they landed when they returned from the US to China. This is precious image documentation of a special time, which is worth to be preserved.
在经历了回国国际航班多次取消、滞留美国半年时间之后，我们终于回到了祖国的怀抱。2020年9月25日，我们从纽约纽瓦克国际机场起飞，途经比利时布鲁塞尔国际机场中转，乘海南航空HU492航班，飞抵西安咸阳机场入境。同一航班全部人员经过海关检疫、核酸检测、点对点转运、隔离诊疗等闭环管理措施，统一由西安市阎良区防疫工作指挥部安排入住陕西省止园饭店（陕西省人民政府招待所），开始了为期14天的医学观察隔离期。
After experiencing multiple cancellations of international flights back home and staying in the United States for half a year, we finally returned to the embrace of our motherland. On September 25, 2020, we took off from Newark International Airport in New York, transited through Brussels International Airport in Belgium, took Hainan Airlines flight HU492, and arrived at Xi'an Xianyang Airport for entry. All personnel on the same flight have undergone closed-loop management measures such as customs quarantine, COVID testing, point-to-point transfer, and began the 14-day medical observation isolation period.
我们因为属于老年夫妇，被安排在同一个房间进行集中隔离。在曾经非常熟悉的所谓标准间里，蜗居在近20平米的空间，我们每天按照工作人员的要求，足不出户，一日三餐有人送，早晚各一次测量体温，两次检测核酸，经历了一段人生中难忘的特殊时期。喜爱纪实摄影的我们，拿起了随身携带的单反相机和手机，互拍、自拍和抓拍，拍摄了一个个瞬间，记录了一个个细节。我们在难得的隔离日子里，用摄影来消磨时光，把禁足当成了机遇，让无聊活出光彩。当最后取得解除医学观察证明的时刻来临，我们除了感到最终可以回家的喜悦之外，还带着获得宝贵影像资料的满足。感恩，有摄影真好！
Because we are an elderly couple, we were placed in the same room for centralized isolation. In the so-called standard room, which was once very familiar to us, we lived in a space of about 20 square meters. We stayed in the room every day according to the requirements of the staff. Three meals were delivered daily, and we spent an unforgettable special period in life. We, who love documentary photography, picked up our SLR cameras and mobile phones, took pictures of each other, took self-portraits and snapped shots, and captured every moment and recorded every detail. In the rare days of isolation, we use photography to pass the time, take the quarantine as an opportunity, and let boredom live brightly. When the time came to finally obtain the certificate of release from medical observation, we not only felt the joy of being able to go home at last but also brought the satisfaction of obtaining valuable imaging data. We are grateful, it's great to have photography!
01.医学留观集中隔离酒店为陕西省止园饭店。我和我夫人属于老年夫妇，可以在同一个房间进行隔离。我的14天隔离生活将在这个标准间里开始。这是我人生中一段难忘的特殊经历。
We were at Shaanxi Zhi Yuan Hotel. My wife and I are considered an elderly couple so we can be quarantined in the same room. My 14-day isolation life will begin in this standard room. This is an unforgettable special experience.
02.进入房间的第一件事就是洗个热水澡。长途国际旅行冒着感染新冠病毒的风险。
The first thing to do after entering the room is to take a warm shower. Long international flights are accompanied by the risk of being infected with the COVID virus.
03.隔离期间睡眠休息倒时差是重头戏。
Turning the biological time around is the highlight during quarantine.
04. 尽管隔离不出门，但是每天刷牙洗脸和梳头还是少不了。
Though not allowed to go out, daily hygiene procedures and hair-brushing cannot be skipped.
05.隔离期间，连走廊门都贴上封条封闭起来。
During quarantine, even the hallway doors are taped
06.每天上午8时和下午8时各一次测量体温并在医务组微信群里上传体温度数。
Every day at 8 am and 8 pm, we have to upload our temperatures in the medical WeChat group chat.
07. 两次核酸检测和一次血清检测，是解除医学留观隔离的必要措施。
Two nucleic acid tests and one blood test are necessary to be released.
08.为了回国返程我们一共做了6次核酸检测。
In order to go back to the motherland, we did a total of 6 nucleic acid tests.
09.全副武装的工作人员一日三餐准时送饭送菜到房间外的小桌上。

10.隔壁老刘总是和我差不多时间取饭。
My neighbor Mr. Liu often grabs his meal at the same time as I do.
11.为了安全隔离，就连拿个饭菜也要戴上口罩。
To safely quarantine, we needed to put on a mask when getting our food.
12.过着饭来张口的日子，家乡的菜肴品种丰富且美味可口。
Delicious meals from our hometown are sent to our mouths.
13.习惯了饭后剔牙，顺便看看窗外景色。
Accustomed to picking my teeth after a meal, I often look outside of the window when doing it.
14.每天工作人员都会清理垃圾一次。
The staff will clear the trash once every day.
15.难得静下心来用电脑。
It's rare to calm down and use the computer.
16.玩手机上网浏览信息并聊天，消遣了许多沉闷时光。
Go online, browse news, and send text messages occupied a lot of boring times.
17.恰逢中秋节，边吃防疫指挥部送来的月饼边上网看新闻。
Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, I watched the news online while eating the moon cakes sent by the epidemic prevention headquarters.
18.好久没做面膜了，趁此空闲抓紧做一次。
It has been so long since the last time I put on a mask, I took the advantage of my free time and did it.
19. 隔离期间网购了一个小米手机，利用空闲时间熟悉手机性能。
I online shopped for a Xiaomi phone and used my free time to get accustomed to the functions.
20.夫妻俩一起做八段锦，上下午各一次。
We do Baduanjin together twice a day, in the morning and afternoon.
