there are at least five top skin care ingredients that you should be looking for when purchasing an effective skin care product. having at least one of the following ingredients is okay, but it is better to find products with as many of them as possible. why? because although each ingredient works differently and will affect your skin's health and appearance in different ways, they can also have a synergistic affect which can boots results. there are hundreds of skin care products on the market that are good; however it can be difficult to sift through them all to find the most effective one. one of the definitive ways that can help in your search is by the manufacturer's inclusion of these five ingredients.
bring on the vitamins – a, c and e -not only are these vitamins healthy as an internal supplement, (which you should be taking as well) but they are scientifically proven to positively enhance the appearance of the skin. skin care products that are full of vitamins a, c and e is your one- two punch to younger looking skin.
vitamin a – usually this is labeled as retinol in the ingredients list. this vitamin has such a small molecular structure that it can penetrate the deepest layers of the epidermis to help smooth the skins texture. it will assist in the production of collagen in which will aide in the reduction of wrinkles and fine lines. it can also even out skin tone. be aware of the different levels of strength in this powerhouse nutrient, it has been known to cause redness and flaking in sensitive skin. always remember to use sun protection after use.
vitamin c – one of my favorites among the ingredients! this little gem as the ability to greatly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as brighten the skin. be sure the product you buy does not have the water soluble vitamin c, also known as ascorbic acid, as this can cause your skin to become irritated. you need to look for the fat soluble type of vitamin c or vitamin c ester. this potent antioxidant has powerful anti-aging qualities in it and can even help to stimulate vitamin e production.
vitamin e – this is probably the most known vitamin to look for in skin care products. it is sought after because of its soothing, nourishing and anti-aging properties. this is also a fat soluble vitamin that is absorbed quickly into the skin for maximum benefits. however, it's not as effective as a stand alone ingredient.
glycolic acid – powerful exfoliate- this alpha-hydroxy acid is one of the most commonly used ingredients in many skin care products designed to accelerate exfoliation. as we get older, our skins ability to shed begins to slow down quite a bit; this build up of dead skin is the culprit for dull, uneven skin tone. regular exfoliation helps you keep that youthful glow that you enjoyed when you were in your 20's. one important note however, glycolic acid can be a dangerous ingredient if too much is included and useless if not enough is used. you should look for a strength of no more and no less than ten percent. usually only high quality products will have the ten percent maxim, so this is a very clear indicator that the skin care product is going to deliver results.
last but not least – dimethylaminoethanol, or dmae?
dmae has been proven to reduce the signs of aging by increasing skin elasticity and firmness. this ingredient is derived from fish such as anchovies and salmon. skin care products that contain dmae will leave you skin looking lifted and firm for a more youthful appearance.
fight aging every step of the way.
the ability to turn back the hands of time has never been more attainable then it is right now. new discoveries with just these fundamental products alone are improving the skin of countless men and women all over the world. but the only way to experience the benefits is to do your homework and find truly effective products that wont waste your time or money.
finding products that have all or a combination of these powerful ingredients is your best bet, to be sure that you have a quality product that produces results. be sure to find out what your skin type is as well, it will assist you in finding the right products for your particular skin care needs.
